Chez la femelle la stérilisation permet de réduire les risques de cancer de l’utérus. Chez certaines races, ce cancer atteint 80% des lapines de plus de 4 ans.

Et chez le mâle, la stérilisation permet d’éviter les problèmes de comportement comme l’agressivité et le marquage urinaire.

Il est conseillé de stériliser votre lapin entre 6 mois et 1 an. Il est néanmoins possible d’opérer plus tard.
